The Vanderbilt School of Nursing and Vanderbilt Divinity School will co-host the Spirituality and End-of-Life Care Conference Saturday, February 7, 2026. The conference is a free, one-day event addressing the intersection of spiritual care, end-of-life care and health disparities.

International Education Week is an annual celebration of international education and cultural exchange. Created in 2000 through a memorandum issued by President Bill Clinton, IEW recognizes the importance of global exchange鈥攚hether it is encouraging students in the U.S. to study abroad or welcoming international students and scholars on U.S. campuses. Colleges and universities throughout the U.S. host IEW in mid-November each year with an array of programming that highlights the broad impact of international education on each campus.聽 Read More

Eight decades of Vanderbilt University history are commemorated in a new exhibit at the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries. Dare to Grow, 1945鈥�2025 is on view in the Central Library fourth-floor lobby through mid-February 2026. The exhibit explores Vanderbilt鈥檚 remarkable growth in faculty, facilities, enrollment and the quality of its students amid national and international crises, recessions, pandemics and other disruptions from postwar to present day.

Stata and R boot camps are coming up this fall for those seeking a refresher in the basics. These interactive, hands-on sessions provide guided practice using the software and include an optional hour after each class for individual questions with the instructor. Read More

The 2025 Southern Festival of Books, presented by Vanderbilt University in partnership with Humanities Tennessee, will connect faculty, students, alumni and others with university ties to a vast community that shares their love for creative expression. The festival, now in its 37th year, will be at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, Tennessee State Museum and Tennessee State Library and Archives Oct. 18鈥�19. Admission is free.

When John Warren is seeking inspiration, he walks and observes. Wandering the streets of Nashville with a 16mm Bolex film camera, the lecturer in art is constantly on the hunt for his next project. Warren filmed on and off for seven years, with many of his shots taking place from 2017-2018. The resulting project is a 16mm experimental film loop called Future Tense that is currently featured in a Frist Art Museum exhibit, Avenues to a Great City, running now through December 14.

The鈥疛ean and Alexander Heard Libraries鈥痺ill host a pair of events on Wednesday, Sept. 17, to celebrate Constitution Day.鈥� The primary purpose of Constitution Day is鈥痶o commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, by delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, and to promote a deeper understanding of this foundational document and its significance to American government.鈥�

After 45 years, Vanderbilt Volleyball is back and you鈥檙e invited to witness history on Aug. 29 at Match 1! Join us as we take on Nashville neighbor Belmont at 7 p.m. on Wyatt Lawn on the university鈥檚 campus.

Vanderbilt Divinity School and the Wond鈥檙y鈥檚 Fiber Arts Lab will host a collaborative service project with faculty, staff, students and local communities of faith to quilt mementos for families who have lost a loved one while discussing different faith traditions and pathways toward interfaith solidarity. The mementos will be donated to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for distribution.

The Curb Center at Vanderbilt and Belmont University are sponsoring composer and musician Hannibal Lokumbe鈥檚 visit to Nashville this April. He will be speaking with courses, giving a talk alongside his biographer Lauren Coyle Rosen, and working with the Vanderbilt 16 on their performance of two movements of his piece 鈥淚n The Spirit of Being.鈥澛� Read More
